I am proud to say I have played 280 welcome games, but many of them were victories on time which I don't like
We Need Chess.com Greeters!
I saved my settings to being a greeter 2 weeks ago, but I haven't got any games. Please give me some!
I was a greeter for a while, but too many games come in that I have to accept or refuse.
How about setting a personal limit on the greeters games I want to accept?
Say anywhere from 1 to 5?
So when I am constantly challenged by new comers it would be nice to limit the games I want to play.
if a challenger wants to phy and I have reached my limit on new comers, automatically it is refused and say try later on.
You can set the number of games you want to play in your settings.
i've been a greeter for a long time, and i do not mind doing it. it's great fun. only i have one question, which is about the same: is there any possibility for greeters to get points to be used in more tactics trainer? (just a humble request
)
Erik -- Would it be possible to create a blanket Conditional Moves setting for Greeter Games? i.e. If I have White as a Greeter I would automatically open with, say, d4, and I would have already stored another couple of moves for the most likely responses to 1 d4. By move 3 or 4 if the other player is still responding, I would know I had a 'live one'.
Don't Know if "everyone is aware" you can set the amount greeting games you can play at one time from 0 to ?? so you can limit how many players you are greeting. As one of those games ends you'll get another greeter game! But you can stop any time by unclicking the greeter option at "My Online Chess settings" for your on profile

These settings control who you play with, how many games you play, and what the game looks like!
NOTE: These settings can't help you win... that's a setting in your head! :)

Erik, you may want to consider tracking greeters with new players and whoever has the most that become paid members you could incentivise with a free one year premium membership. It shouldnt be hard sell on new people joining but a good experience will likely get more people to stay and/then upgrade.
Only one side of the story is coming out here. My greeter game was abandoned by the greeter. As the greetee (seems like the right word, too many eeeeees though) I would have expected at least a hello or hi( or maybe even a move :P)......Well you've got me now erik so I'm wondering how many you missed?
Can you give a job as greeter for only greeting and also build a robot greeter. We also need to stop people going away. Can you delete the people that havn't logged in in more than 3 months because it takes a username that is sometimes very good.
I would love to be a greeter for the site but I really wish there was an option that allowed you to select the # of days per move that you would like to do. Right now all of the games automatically are set for 3 days per move and while in many cases this would not be a problem, some people such as myself find it hard to make moves in such a short time. The schedule that I keep right now makes it really difficult to play these games. Yes, I am currently playing in a tournament that is set at 3 days per move but I can honestly say that I am reallly having to scramble to get to a computer sometimes to make those moves. I know that it may take some time to set this up or it may never be an option, but if this could be done, then I will gladly be a greeter.
working to fix the issue...
I think it's fixed, had no greeter games yesterday, have 9 now.
I used to be a greeter for a short period of time. But after I finished one game out of 20 or so, it's not very satisfying.
i was a greeter for a while. i don't think i even finished one game without my opponent timing out. i took a break for a while because i wanted to concentrate on my tournament games. i will most likely sign up for it again.
question: does unrated games count in your win/loss column? if yes, i really don't like that. there should be separate sections for rated and unrated games.

ooohoooh pick me!!
