I'm not that attached one way or another but it seems like no one's raised any concern a "do not show sig" option couldn't solve.

i would, of course, not let people opt out of MY signature.

Let's keep it nice and simple... I just post my username after every post as my signature.

Judging from the size of Erik's motorbike, this suggestion ain't gonna be no Easy Rider.

What kind or type of signature are you looking for?

Your post is ambiguous as it leaves the door open to too many interpretations.

Can you either be specific or narrow it down?

Much appreciated.

I thought I was pretty clear.  IMO, should be text only sig, two lines, with links or a profound (or silly) quote or whatever people want in it really.  Except Eric who's allowed a biker that got hold of one of Alice's mushrooms eivdently!

I don't really mind if it has signatures or not.

WhiteEagle

I'm with Narz on this one. I have a pretty plain sig which I will add to this post to prove how simple it is.

The overhead on potentially every post makes it hard to justify signatures on efficiency grounds. Assuming a person consistently uses the same signature, it quickly becomes passé – even Erik’s motorbike (especially Erik’s motorbike!).  The place for such a tag (if there is such a place) is in your profile, or your status; if hover-over-name ever works, perhaps it could be displayed there.

Using a different signature tag every time has, at least, the defence of variety. (It's been a while since I saw those epigramic, UNIX fortune cookies).
