I agree with the idea of a method of rating posts, so instead of getting a point for each post, you get a different amount depending on the rating.

A post rating system is needed and it is needed ASAP.
Can anyone tell me what points are not for? Can you not do any thing with them? Do you have to earn a certain amount of points to not do any thing with them? Someone please don't help me!!!
They could do a mini-badge system like boardgamegeek. Over there, points can buy little badges under your avatar. The badges are designed by users. Maybe there could be badges for prefered openings, pics of favorite gms, scholastic chess players, people who drink while playing, etc.
