COMING SOON

We have lots of new features in development and will be showing off some great improvements in July! The main projects on the list are about improving Live Chess, making the site easier to use, and a whole bunch of small requests on the to-do list that we've been putting off while working on major projects.

Let the guessing games begin!

Some alien variant of chess?

Independence maybe?  The ability to go outside enjoy a day of summer without once again succumbing to the temptress that is chess.com?

Aw, who am I kidding?  I want new features!

A new nomenclature e.g. "PLACID chess".

This would be great as exposure to a better level of membership might entice new comers as well as old goats to upgrade.

As an old goat - I would probably be enticed to upgrade my c.c membership if this site had the features those "other" sites make available and for which I pay annual membership fees which I could then apply to my upgrade. Innocent

(hey! what happened to spellcheck)Surprised

Is 'Once-a-day chess' superceeding 'Turn-based chess'?

I hope not because that would apply to a specific time control of one move per day. All of this of course, was discussed in the topic nomenclature but to no avail.
Correspondence Chess or CC was a wonderful term. All you had to do was say it and the listener could easily discern what it meant.
--- The term "Turn based" is rediculous. Everything is turn-based; scrabble, monopoly, poker, conversations, traffic lights, checking out at the supermarket, executions.
--- Online Chess - Chess played online has nothing to do with time control.
--- email chess - See "Correspondence Chess" However... there's no email.
--- chess on demand - Demand all you want. I'll move when I'm ready.
--- DIC = Daily Incremented Chess
--- DC+ = Diurnal Chess Plus
--- Daily Plus - Just doesn't roll off the tounge.
--- Metamucil Chess - well regulated daily chess

To devote a seperate forum page solely for the celebration of the literary epic that is " Chess Sociopath! " .... After all, chess.com is where the idea was born, so mommy should take care of it's baby.

Since Chess.com seems to becoming a serious powerhouse in the chess world (IMO) why not start organizing some local tournaments sponsored by them maybe at local malls etc. to promote chess even more. Just think of how many more people would sign up with chess.com right at the events if they saw a local one day tournament going on. if not a whole tournament, maybe some of the really strong players who belong to Chess.com to put on simultaneous exhibitions in public places. C'mon guys! First rule of advertising, you have to promote your product where people who aren't using it are exposed to what this site can do. Can you imagine how many people would sign up if they knew this was a FREE unlimited site?

For games played on Guy Fawkes night, pieces should explode in a rocket shower when taken.

p.s. Why on earth are you celebrating Guy Fawkes' night in California?
