Do you mean the Freudian slip, "excusive interview"? Laughing

Was wondering how long it would take before someone got it.

Shouldn't Viswanathan Anand be entitled to a rematch?  All other champions got rematches.

Any updates?

Still waiting for this...let's hope this isn't how Magnus Carlsen and PR team handle things going forward...

Hi all. It seems Carlsen is not going to do this interview after all. His team promised several times to have him reply the answers over email, but so far I haven't received anything. I'm truly sorry but I really didn't expect this; I've known Magnus and his manager for many years and we've been on very good terms. I'm sure it's been a very hectic period for them so maybe we should still keep some hope...

How many questions were all together?

Could you post the questions you were going ask? Maybe we can have some fun guessing what he would have answered.

This would be interesting. I bet one of the questions is "Which is best, e4 or d4?"

sapientdust

Magnus would answer Nf3, of course.

Mandy711

Nice answer! How about this question, "Which opening is the best?"

First time I've heard of this thread. So what. Carlsen probably got better things to do.

heinzie

It's just too bad he's too busy being successful that he's forgetting who his true fans and supporters are

Hi all. Today I got a confirmation from Magnus' manager that they want to take their time, to give good answers. It will take a few more days, so hopefully early next week I can post the interview. Sorry about the delay, but there's not much to do and please find comfort in the fact that we'll be one of the very few to actually have a more or less excusive interview!

I'm very disappointed that Magnus' team said they wanted to take their time "to give good answers" and then couldn't even be bothered to communicate to chess.com that they have apparently changed their mind.

I thought Magnus had more class than that.

Edgedancer

I don't really care if he has better things to do - he might well have, and it's absolutely justified if he only wanted to postpone this because of something higher up in his to-do list - but a promise is a promise, and he'll either respect that or get the reputation for leaving things halfway done. I wouldn't be too worried about the delay.

Hey it's no big deal. I mean, it's not like any interview answers would suddenly turn into magic dust and take the place of years of diligent hard work, thousands of hours of constant study, a top professional coach and all the other ingredients I'd assume just from outside observation are responsible for a man to play at the top levels anyway.
