what's with all the creepers?

              Its scary being a kid today. The're subject to many more pitfalls than we were.

I never realized how dangerous the internet is for kids until i came onto this site. I watch my twins like hawks online as a result... when they are in an interactive environment i am there with them. Or strict rules come into play.

            Are your kids listening now??

A long time ago I made a fake girl account on this site and I found a lot of creeps adding me and chatting with me telling me how beautiful I am. One old guy even wanted to visit me! WTF?!?!?! I closed the account a few weeks later.

           I was gonna tell sleeping beauty a couple of stories along those lines New_Gee, but I didn't want to startle her kids.

I once changed my profile pic to the image I posted on page 2 of this thread. It was up ther for 24 hours. I got a few messages including an offer to teach me chess on thread of mine that had gone dead.

The flesh eating lion stopped that.

No not at all..  i dont allow my kids on here.

I change my pics all the time and it is always interesting to see what photo will produce what result.

Afraid they might find out mommy is not the person they have come to love and respect,but, rather, some chess monster?

                  A girl here by the name of Laura from Spain. Her dad wanted her to leave this site because he mistakenly thought she was on a porn site. Another user, Safari Queen had perverts sending her pictures of their privates. Out of the blue. About 6 months ago there was a whole rash of demonizing females threads. Other females have told me that the're getting nasty un-wanted messages.

No... anyone that  really knows me loves me..  once in a while they will type stuff into boxes in here without me looking. its funny. It is not a secret from them. it is just not appropriate for them. Plus they are girls not at all into chess. too busy doing girlie things..

                Far be it for me to try and give advice to a parent, but I think the site is Ok, but your right, the internet is dangerous. If you think anybody's bothering your child, send in a ticket.

This site is ok when monitored. i wouldnt allow any kid of mine in here unmonitored. I have heard way too many stories. And there are far too many unstable people in here

              I can't prove this, but I just have a gut feeling that its monitored very well like business, Monday to Friday 9 to 5. Nights and weekends just feels like there's a skeleton crew of mods.

I will agree with Sleeping beauty.  My 14 year old son plays here  ONLY  when Im around.  I have full control of his account.  

                 I drove a school bus for 15 yrs. On more than 1 ocasion I brought a child home to his front door because of bullys at the bus stop.

There are a lot of changes going on in here and i personally feel it is not monitored as it used to be.

Bullies come in all shapes and sizes and there are plenty of adult bullies in here..
