Where has friendliness gone on this site?

I didn't think i would make a post like this, but my question is where is friendliness gone? After I play a nice, exciting game, win or loose, I like to ask friendship. But why is it so rarely accepted? Is this site full of ego?

For most people, a "friend" means a friend, not just some random user they accidentally played a game with.

So how is someone supposed to make friends here. The only way I know is to play someone and ask frienship if I liked the way they played..

If you happen to chat long enough in a game (doubtful unless it's a daily imho) to establish that rapport, then you may have someone who wants to be friends. Those are long odds though.

Really, if you want friends, you get them by doing things outside. With other people. It could even be chess! Check if there's a chess club where you live. That could be a good place to start.

Perhaps they didn't like the way you played.

Most people on chess.com are very primitive, they don't know they can accept friend requests. They don't know they can read your chats.

I hope this helps.
