The membership Is so they stay and then others will come because there are titled players. They are allowed to have 2 accounts because then they cant be easily studied by future opponents

if you wanted membership... you pay for it. It's completely different than paying taxes to a feudal lord. they give some extra privileges to titled players because they're good, but at the same time... they're not taking away privileges from lesser rated players.
and they still complain.

yeah, it is. They want to attract top players, so they give some incentive. chesscom is a business, so you can't really call "capitalism" something akin to "elitism".
