When I was at an advantage and about to win, my opponent quit the match. And you know what? I didn’t get any ELO points at all. Why do they even do that? It’s so frustrating.

If the opponent resigns, you still get elo.

The same rating change happens regardless of how you win, if the game started as rated. The only exception would be a game aborted if it was being played at the completion of an arena or if you and your opponent get disconnected (double forfeit).
