Tourments, trophys, having harder people to play besides my friends
Why do you like Chess.com?
Chess.com is a fabulous place to play chess whether you are a beginner or an advanced player. It's a content rich and extremely user-friendly site that allows players of all chess abilities as well as internet abilities to come and just enjoy the great game of chess.
But the best thing about chess.com is how close site leadership stays to the constituency. Constantly explaining changes that were made or are coming soon, constantly asking for feedback on existing features.
Chess.com is simply accessible from top to bottom.
SIMPLICITY, and that's with all the complex value-adding features that Chess.com has, like the list of current and past opponents, individual statistics, quick review of moves per game, among others.
Other chess sites may boast of more complex features - but try working them out, and one finds they're so difficult to work around with. Too complex.
An old maxim says, "There's elegance in simplicity." (And that's what I paid for.)
Cheers to Chess.com! More power to you Erik and your partners!
What really won me over from yahoo was the live interface. It's so much better! It's easier to use, much more visually appealing and you don't have to worry about glitches or people refusing to move with an insanely long timer so you disconnect yourself out of frustration. the clocks also don't glitch and refuse to end a game when either player is out of time. On top of all of this, I was reading the chatroom and the people here are so friendly and polite! After my first live game I was thoroughly convinced and have been here ever since.
I simply love chess.com! I always thought that chess is a dumb, boring game, until my friend showed me this community site where I've made my first chess moves. Now I've figured out that it's not dumb, not even boring, but it's a game with a lot of fun. Thanks to you chess.com! I think that this is the best site for learning chess and getting more experienced. The things I love mostly are live chess, daily puzzle and the chess mentor. And I can't forget the chess.com staff of course! :) Well done with that site! You got all my support!
P.S.: I'm thinking to upgrade to premium membership soon ;)
Many reasons, one the ability to meet old and new friends in various types of chess games, both turn-base and live chess as well as being able to run tournaments and now team matches (although that area needs a little work to make make it TD / players friendly). Also the fact that interfaces with other sites blogs so easily. discussions are good too, even if off topic. Plus it allows scholastic and adults to meet on the chessboard thus being able to share experience when needed as well as allows players to run their own tournaments so hopefully one day they'll be running tournaments. Not just here at Chess.com but OTB tournaments as well!
Meeting people form all over the world that otherwise we may not have met and its allows various types of memberships as well as free so we have people who may not played otherwise and may prove to be excellent chess players. I met many low rated players that were playing rare strong, yes they may be reading a book, but guess how most of us got better at chess, reading either a book or something on the Internet and of course playing the game of chess as much as possible! Its a good way to relax and see what a good does a swell as when a bad move makes you want to says back to the drawing board. Or a few choice words, Grr!
Well these just a few reasons! So you ready for a game of Chess!
The thing that most impresses me is the community. The internet seems to be full of bigoted and disrespectful people, but here you can carry an intelligent conversation without being flamed.
The community here is unlike any other. It’s a friendly, constructive, helpful, family-like site, and after being a member for over a year, I can’t do without it; It’s a part of my everyday life!
I have made Chess.com my internet home page because I find myself spending so much time here. Every time I am at this site I feel like a child in a chess candy store. So much to do and not enough time to take it all in. As a premium member, I know it is an incredible bargain. Everything is web based, and the site is incredibly user-friendly. If only I had had Chess.com thirty years ago!
reason 1 i love chess
reason 2 it's such an easy site to get around unlike say pogo were you have 12 links on the page at once
reason 3 it's a great way to find people your level to play with
reason 4 it also has great ways to learn and has many groups you can interact in
finally reason 5 i love tourneys, there very competitive and most other chess sites don't have them
I play Chess in other SITES, but, up to the present moment, I did not find better than chess.com
Chess.com contains much options what I still did not use, someone what I do not know how it will use and others that are limited to the market. But, I affirm, it is a better SITE of Chess what I found in the Internet.
