Why does blocking do so little?

To be on topic, I'm going to block you. Seeing that you are a troll that has no life, I suggest you quit before you are banned.

Blocked members should not be able to but there was a bug that still allowed it.

I think this is the worst bug in the forums.

I disagee completely.   I feel that no one should "own" a thread which, once posted, becomes public (within the limited scope and restrictions of the site) property and not some individual's domain.

Well that not a bug, is it?

The bug allows what should be (as I see it)...so it's not the worst bug in the forums.

I suppose it's not fair because anyone can block anyone for any reason and that's really disruptive. But in your scenario, if a person is harassing another player at a tournament they would be given a warning before being asked to leave. And I suppose things are handled similarly on here as well because you can report people. I guess I just can't see any other solution to my being forced to interact with these people or to not participate in discussions at all.

I think it should be noted, though, that Facebook's blocking system works in the way I proposed. If you block someone, they have no way of seeing anything you post. It's as if you didn't post at all. And conversations get along just fine on there.

don't blogs here work that way?

They can see in a second account

And the Facebook paradigm is a bit different than here. There is more like groups or blogs here. Hiding individual posts in the forum would break the flow of the conversation and trying to keep the member from seeing or be blocked from anything you post on, not just start would really break the process more.

Now something similar to a system where you could automatically filter out out anything posted by someone on your blocked list would likely be better as it would only break conversation flow for you and you would only see those posts if someone quoted the blocked member.

Youve spent how many days concerned with some troll who couldn't care lesd about you. I think you should just grow up.

Exactly how much time do you think it takes me to write one paragraph? About 30 seconds. It's my time to spend anyway. And I've spent zero seconds of it bothering with the trolls (more than just the user whose posts have been removed from this forum and others). I'm putting my effort into what I think is a part of this site that needs improvement or just a different approach. So why are you here exactly?

I think you have some growing up of your own to do: "Well, i was kick out of my local chess club for fighting."

You are very argumentative. Maybe if you didn't rub everyone the wrong way you wouldn't have these types of problems. I have an anger problem and i did pull someones hair at the chess club, but im working to resolve these issues. I like how you researched my posts just so you could find a way to insult me. Anyhoo, where are all of these people who are allegedly harassing you?

You tell me to grow up and then say I'm argumentative... like I already said, the person's posts were removed by a member of the staff

Well, it's pretty obvious who had taken the lowest road here.

If someone is bugging you unpurpose report them. That's what I did. Sometimes blocking isn't enough. Some men on here are just so immature. I say men because I have never had a problem with a woman on here just men and mostly men from india oddly enough.

Well, that could be because you don't encounter as many women on here because there are fewer women on here, rather than because characteristics such as "immature" are only compatible with one gender.

Yes this could be true however I doubt it.

I agree blocked users shouldn't be allowed to post in your threads.

That's funny. Why don't you close this account and open another account with another girl's picture?
