An Indian participant named [public accusations are not allowed -- MS] is using bots to win, please report to whom it may concern, they tarnish an ancient game by cheating.

But if it was the case, perhaps let the word out that it reflects badly on their proud country.

Most non-professional indians have very bad sportsmanship.

That is simply not true, there is a huge network problem here and sometimes chess.com just troubles me so badly.

Let's take the following examples here :

The electricity here goes like many times during the rains, which can cause many players to cause this problem. In most of India, especially coastal and southern parts, it is raining somewhat heavily, which is making many electrical problems for us. Secondly, the data has slowed down drastically. This is because the poor maintenance done by the Jio Company of India, as I have faced this along with a lot of my jio-users friends! Currently, it is still raining here, and I live in Madhya Pradesh, so I hope you can understand from this fact.
Secondly, chess.com's server has not been working up to date. Taking 0.1 seconds for every move (i think that has been happening from the start) and sometimes for us Indians, especially my side, whenever we play a 1|0 games, the problem occurs when, we play our move and it still takes like 10 seconds to deliver, this problem is what I have been facing for the past few days! Chess.com also requires a lot of data to work with, at least on the browser, as for what I have seen. That's why for the time being I have transferred to lichess, even though I have a membership on chess.com ... Lichess doesn't have any server time delay, and it works really fast and is free, but still for the real analysis and other activities, I still prefer chess.com, just not during the rainy months as it gets really hard for us! So, I suppose, the rainy problem which, was above mentioned too, is correct!

Now other members, just rage-quit, we have people like this in every country. I find this happening in U.S.A too and remember this, there is a guy named @Arjunpache , we matched in 10|0 rapid game, he was losing, in less than 3 minutes, he wasted my whole time, when I threatened him to report, he cursed me, banned me from several clubs and took my roles such as admin, etc. and much more. What a sadistic guy, who just wants revenge, luckily due to my good name in those clubs, I was able to prevent it and expose him to some extent. This guy is also from India! So, you will find this everywhere! I am a non-professional chess player and I play fairly, and there are so many others doing the same!

yes, due to rising global warming, rains in India are getting worse every year. But this is not the cause of power outages in India. You see, in India, most of the electricity is produced by thermal power plants which require coal as fuel. Due to the rising cost of coal per month and promises by certain state governments for reduced electricity costs, there are frequent power outages here. Even in summers, when people use the most electricity.
However, power outages are less common in big cities like Kolkata, because the government can't afford them. but again, you can also acquire electricity from generators and solar panels, not to mention that the cost of solar panels and other labor costs in India are much less compared to the US.
Internet can also be an issue sometimes, but I personally use 5G internet from better ISPs. So, I have never faced any connectivity issues recently. Using web browsers like opera can also lessen the time delays.
again, I would like to state that most non-professional players in any sport regardless of culture or nationality tend to have bad sportsmanship. But I don't like to threaten anyone. I just report them. They should take responsibilities for their actions and understand that they are practicing unethical cyber activities that also violate chess.com's rules.

Game abandonment habits. Maybe it seems like more from your home country, but it could just be a relative number thing.

internet is bad man, especially during these times. Normally it was like from end of june, to start of september, but due to global warming stuff, it has extended onto the end of september and maybe will continue in october too

yeah as I said in my message that when I go to India during the summer, internet sucks with many power outages

Agreed

China has more people, but India is far more represented in chess. I wonder if it has the 2d most players on the site, behind the US?

Chinese people don't play chess or board games in general they tend to prefer video games and online gaming (in my experience).

But in China they are too proud of their Chinese chess (Xiangzhi? did I spell that right) and can't be bothered by the Western form of chess. meanwhile, the game of chess as we know it was invented in India and then migrated to the Middle East and Europe where the rules were modified, so Indians take chess as a source of national pride

Xiangqi and go (weiqi) although I'm not sure which is more popular.

Your reasoning makes sense too, though.

India was very bad at chess for a long time. I'm pretty sure it's not because chess was invented there!

Avatar of PorscheXcel

Well, he was talking about the 20th century where there was no Indian player playing good chess except Sultan-Khan till the 1980s. At around that time in the 80s, Anand emerged as a top player, leaving India behind a lot at that time.
