I didn't think you liked football.

Not saying you should have to, but is it really that hard to kill 30 minutes, especially with access to the Internet?

Actually chess.com has established a special ratings pool where the worst offenders of the fair play policy are forced to play each other, so they're doing their best.  As an experiment someone made a thread where he deliberately disconnected many times in a row, or simply walked away from games....

Someone made a thread......

LOL, way to "out" yourself, baddogno!  Surprised  But good move, nonetheless.Wink

I can see why this thread would attract Kaynight's etc attempts at pithy humour - the topic has indeed been discussed in many, many other previous threads, although perhaps it would have been useful to post links to some of those aforementioned threads. The title is somewhat provocative as well.

My own point is that everyone "pays" for membership, even if they choose not to outlay money for premium membership - that's what the ads are for. Plus they allow chess.com to claim they have X number of members and have the number of available games that they do, as well as contributing to the various forums.

I would also suggest that one poor experience with the Live Support is a very small sample from which to generalise - it would certainly be worthwhile trying again, especially given the positive experience at least one other person has had with Live Support.

Well, OP fails to see that. He also has failed to see the many compliments he was given by my heroes. He even called me a peach! What a very nice OP. I am also happy to know, that he finds us all hilarious and encourages us to keep going. So we might as well buy the OP a drink.

My cocktail waitress has many fine brews, OP? What will it be? Newcastle? Smithwicks? Guinness? She has them all!

Also wanted to note that I have just switched over to the "new" chess.com, which is apparently only available to premium members at the moment, but which will presumably become version 3 for everyone somewhere along the line, and it looks like it's got this Usersnap feature that will grab a screenshot and send it as an attachment to chess.com support automatically, along you need to add your own email address and comments (as you do when currently reporting abuse through the Support Section), which should make proving this sort of behaviour and therefore getting action from the moderators considerably simpler.

Most certianly a tricky one...

And no I'm not from Ireland. It is definetly good stuff.

Here's a sample of hits from a forum search on "Disconnecting":

http://www.chess.com/forum/view/suggestions/frustration-sportsmanship-and-other-issues (4 years ago)

http://www.chess.com/forum/view/general/people-who-disconnect2 (2 years ago)

http://www.chess.com/forum/view/general/chesscom-players3 (13 months ago - I think had a particularly useful discussion)

http://www.chess.com/forum/view/help-support/fair-play14 (23 months ago)

http://www.chess.com/forum/view/community/disconnecting4 (13 days ago)

And that's just the first page of search results.

Yes indeed, mi'lord. Many people have gotten frustrated, and showing such frustration in threads just like those. And many times do they need hugs to help them feel better. I would like to give the OP a hug! *HUG*! There. That will clear his thoughts and make him feel warm and fuzzy inside!!

Thanks old bean, would you mind if I sent you a friend request? If you accepted, that would double my current tally.

You are welcome to send one if you so wish. Tongue Out
