can you send the game? it might be because some other pieces have moved
Why is automatic draw not happening after the third repetitive move?
I'm new to chess.com, I don't know how to send the game. I see the little chess board option but when I click it I don't understand the options it's asking me to upload.
It´s not about repeating moves; the draw occurs after a position which has appeared for the third time, with the same side to move.
To insert the game: open it and go to Share (bottom left on the control panel). Choose Embed and copy the code ( [gid...........] ). Then paste this code into your answer here, using the little chessboard symbol.
I think he means his game against AhmeDDomaaD.
Just because YOU toggle your king back and forth does not make it a repetition.
The entire position, White and Black, must be the same 3 times with the same player to move, both sides having the same legal options.
If Black is toggling his king, but White is playing different moves, placing all his pieces on different squares, that is NOT repetition.
A position is not about two pieces. A position is best thought of (IMO) as a picture of the entire chessboard, including every piece on it. And every piece on the board must also be in the same position. When two photos match, only then is the Possibility of a second being created. When the second photo matches, then it must also be the same persons turn to move as the first photo. If not, then is not a second position, but an another 1st position added to all previous first positions and second positions created. All 1st and 2nd positions are lost/nullified when a pawn move is made, or piece is captured, because no photo image will match so position records start fresh.
Along with that the same castling rights must be met, along with en passant. Both of which can have matching photos, but result in different positions, along with resetting the position count, but these probably weren't your issue.
I've had opponents force draws on me by making repetitive moves. The draw happens automatically, I don't get to accept or decline it. Yet, when I make repetitive moves, no automatic draw happens. Why is it only happening against me but I'm not able to take advantage of it? I Googled and it said an automatic draw is supposed to happen after the third repetitive move. I'll make the same move repeatedly four or five times, but still no automatic draw happens. Yet when I'm playing someone else, they make repetitive moves and then a forced draw happens. Why is this?
