Yeah it happens to the best of us. Just watched a Tal game in nearly every move he played was just bad. So yeah, happens to us all.
My weakness is definitely closed games. I like to trade very often and attack my opponent. So, when my opponent plays closed games, I cannot do that and I have a disadvantage.
I hate closed positions as well. I much prefer freedom to think.
resourcefulness, and conversion... I can't save lost games easily (tricks, finding counter play when objectively losing...).
Another one is I often get great positions (sometimes even crushing) against higher rated player (objectively +8, 10) and still throw...
My strength is definitely openings and tactics. In general, I have a good feel for openings not line memorization, hence why I get good positions from the opening against higher rated players but in many cases can not convert.
Also saving lost positions is a weakess of mine... Some players are magicians at keeping the counter play rolling -6, -10, it feels like their totally in the game.. I have no idea how they do it.
(of course all relative to my level, relative to serious players everything is my weakness )
I throw an incredible amount of games, I swear that I've lost at least half the games where I was a rook up today. This either happens due to me getting overconfident and blundering, running low on time (and blundering), or letting my opponent lash out and break up my position when I have a positional advantage but don't see my opponent's plan or don't exploit his weakness in time.
Cough cough your games against me
my weakness? nervousness! it strikes often in speed chess against human players in rated games and when i try to solve puzzles with countdown..sometimes i am very confident after learning hard but then in games, somewhat i forgot some of my memories of chess theories i've memorized
My weakness is probably in slow and position games where there is no clear way of making forward progress. Sometimes I just can't find an attack in certain positions and although I do find that I can win by just playing defensively and letting my opponent attack me, it feels unnatural and I would struggle to take advantage of an opponent doing the same to me

it was way worst during my tilt the last couple of games, I mean against you it was just a positional advantage, meanwhile in blitz I'm throwing up a rook...
...if it was just a clean rook... With no compensation...
I know mine, like just now, a run of losses because I'm so tired. I often wonder as well how Tal could play when he's drunk. I can't focus on a board when I am drunk. I wonder if he lost games, because he wasn't drunk. Anyway, I know when to quit and hit the haysack.
