One thing I don't like, you are not notified by chess.com if you are blocked. I think you should know who you can communicate with and with whom you can't. It leads to embarrassment later on.

I guess they figure you'll find it out when you don't have a reply box at the bottom of the page or if you go to their home page and it says "you are blocked from this user's notes."

But as I said it is very embarrassing and disappointing. Happens a lot that you click on a thread and read all of the comments, come up with a good answer and then scroll down, only to find out you've been blocked by the OP and can't reply.

If we were notified beforehand, we could at least know that we can't post after seeing who the OP is.

You should know who has blocked you and who hasn't. Who's with me?

Maybe that's their ultimate revenge: To get you to waste your own time scrolling through their thread, letting you think you've came up with a good reply to contribute... only to go "wait a minute... I can't post! Oh poor me! For shame! This is so disheartening!"

You just need to learn how to nurse a grudge. Bide your time and then in a later thread, make a pithy zinger at their expense.

You're always grinning trysts!

DrSpud: I can't be disrespectful in another thread.

NK: That's what I dislike. I don't deserve the revenge.

And I have no one blocked.

Threads doesn't mean clothing.

I'll have to be patient, but I get a feeling that I shall have to wait for months.

MuhammadAreez10.............Why do people block you?

Avatar of DrSpudnik

Some of the people who blocked him are frequent blockers. They have thin skins and don't want him posting his frequent questions etc in their threads. In that case, it's probably them not him.

Then he's probably better off without them. I've known him for some time now and I've never seen him be rude or nasty to anyone.

It does. American slang. Archaic. Common usage in the 1960s and 1970s.
