4 pawns vs. bishop endgame

I just finished a game that reached this position. In the game, the four pawns beat the bishop, but I'm sure the endgame wasn't played perfectly. What is the best play in this position?

Something like this. This is from glossing over it - I'm sure black has some slightly better moves, but I would say this position is an easy win for white.

Really easy to win. Not only 4 connected passed pawns vs a bishop - a huge advantage, but also the position of black's king makes it useless.

You can't speak of perfection in positions with overwhelming odds like here. Perhaps one move sequence mates in 20 moves and another one in 22. But who cares when you can find both in your sleep?

Move Perfection never ever matters in game play, there is only winning, drawing and losing. Many World Championships were decided by drawing a totally won last game. That was perfection in the match situation. Rejecting the draw offer would have been a blunder as it would have increased the risk of not winning the match title.

It is different in puzzling. Often you must demonstrate move perfection to get to the instructed finish line - like checkmate in 5 moves. But that is not game play.

Thnx, I missed that! I do reply to old posts when they are still instructive, but this is not one of those!

If you were replying so that the next people will read your response, then it is perfectly okay.
