I don't think so.
a random question about endgames
Probably not. You can deliver checkmate without your king, but I highly doubt you can force the other king to the corner by just using a rook and a knight.
UPD
Now that I think about, it's definetely not possible. A rook and a knight can force a perpetual if the king is on the edge, but not more than that. Even if the king is on the edge, they alone can't force him to the corner which is the only place where they can checkmate him on their own.
Yes! Since you can always force mate with rook and king versus king, obviously doing it with rook, knight and king versus king would be even easier
I am pretty sure the rook and knight can checkmate from any position where the white king is fixed on c3 (c6, f6, f3) and of course, white does not immediately lose a piece. Perhaps the white king can be on other 3rd row positions as well.
I see we have a lot of new players here. Welcome! First of all, King and rook can always force mate against a lone king. You should know how to do this. In case you don't, here's a video that explain how to do it. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VOGeEZ7iYSg
Since you can always mate with just a king and rook, obviously it's even easier with an extra knight as well!
This is a really dumb question anyways, the king in an endgame is an important piece so there isn't really a reason not to use it
In an endgame with a knight and rook vs a king is it possible to checkmate the opponents king without the aid of your king?
