Bishop + pawn versus rook endgame

Hi, I am relatively new to Chess.com and have been playing a series of games against my brother. Our current game has reached the endgame of my A file pawn and light squared bishop versus his rook. To my unstudied eye, this seems like an obvious draw, but my brother insists he wants to play on. Am I missing something? Does either side have an advantage in this scenario?

You shouldn't talk about ongoing games, I think.

I'm not sure that giving general ideas about this sort of ending would be cheating.

Me neither.

Maybe that's enough information for that question? Wink

To be clear, I am not looking for move suggestions. Just an indication as to wheher this scenario is generally a draw or not.

it is a draw since rook vs bishop minus pawn is a theoretical draw

Except for trivial cases where the bishop is pinned or skewered, the rook can't win against bishop plus pawn, and can avoid losing by sacrificing itself for the pawn.

if the king is in the corner of the opposite colour of the bishop and the bishop defends the square next to the king its a draw
