I believe that could be a win for black.
blocked pawns and kings
thanks but it didnt answer my question...
i know that the second figure is lead to the win of the side that havent the move becaouse the opponent need to leave the defense on his pawn.
i wanna to know if there is any fast visual way to see two pawns blocks each other and kings on some squares and know who is the winner...
thanks!
In order to win the top position, white has two goals:
1) Win the black pawn
2) Don't allow black's king to occupy the squares in front of the white pawn unless white can gain the opposition, forcing black to move his king off the file.
White can accomplish Goal 1 in the position, but not Goal 2. This is because black can maneuver his king such that whenever white takes the pawn, he can then play ... Kd7, taking the opposition and forcing a draw. For instance:
about this kind of position (ignore the kings placement - its a draw) when can i know if its a draw or a win for someone? i tried this position on chessmaster with some kind of kings placement and got draw all the time.
i know that the win in this situation is only if my king make the last move in the second position and the opponent king must leave his guard on his pawn.
would you please give me some insights on this position? when can i know from the kings placement if its a draw or win?
