I  keep staring at it, and I keep losing!! It's 3 in the morning here in the USA. I have to sleep....and I hope this position doesn't haunt my dreams. But I will solve it tomorrow!

Playing for a draw:

Seems to me that a win is unlikely.

i think lichess is wrong ... i think a GM can give us other solution.

Wasn’t engine analysis, was me playing vs Stockfish.

Was this a study? It’s a great position.

I really wanted to let black queen and mate with the pawns but the tempos didn’t work or I had to let them queen with check.

not a study, all started from Alison then changed everyone something.

can be lichess saved?

No, it's a win, and really interesting position. I presumed it was a study as it works so well.
3...Ke8 is clearly the better practical try.

In the original position- What’s to even think about? The N easily immobilises the a+b pawns, then you play g5 and the N provides the spare tempo on the other side meaning the typical defence in pure K and P vs K won’t work.

Can you provide insight on the second position after 3...Ke8. Stockfish abandons this pawn which seems much weaker practically.

You can attack the a/b pawns, is it just a pawn race? Seems pretty tight.

lichess stockfish is 2600 elo which i greatly suspect it will not provide a GM level answer (generally speaking, engines work bad on endgames, i have proofs on that). The idea of adding more pawns on original Alison position was because stockfish take much long time to "think" when many pawns, i added that with the intention to avoid engine based answers ... just to get pure human logic (and more helpful) ideas ...

I think I figured out a method.....but it may only draw! I played this for over an hour, and got killed! However, one big revelation: You need to TAKE on d7 to approach the pawns from the back. If you try to stand in front, the 3 pawns will kick the horse around. But if you get to the a4 square, it stops them from running, and your king can approach.

That’s a different position. I posted a win vs the other position before.

FFS, I had the pawns on the wrong rank the whole time! It turns out three pawns on the fifth are harder to stop than three pawns on the fourth (which is completely counter-intuitive, but here we are).

One of these days, I will get one of these endings in a tournament, and I seriously hope I remember all of this.

First attempt. You have to tackle this with ideas. Knights are very effective in blocking passed pawns.

Black moves are from Stockfish 8 (I'm too lazy to compile the most recent one and repositories don't have cutting edge material, but I don't think it makes a lot of difference).
