Endgame Book recommendation

Starting out Series on Endgame by Chris ward . Much better than Silman . Silman made me tired with opposition, distant opposition, diagonal opposition etc.

But Chris ward book is direct to the point and gives more confidence in endgames

If you're looking to enhance your chess skills or delve deeper into the complexities of the game, I highly recommend exploring the following books. "Bobby Fischer Teaches Chess" https://essaysempire.com/buy-narrative-essay.html by Bobby Fischer is an excellent starting point for beginners, offering clear explanations and interactive exercises to improve your understanding of basic chess principles. For intermediate players seeking to advance their tactics and strategy, "The Amateur's Mind: Turning Chess Misconceptions into Chess Mastery" by Jeremy Silman provides valuable insights into common mistakes and how to overcome them. "My Great Predecessors" by Garry Kasparov is a masterpiece that delves into the lives and games of the greatest chess players in history, offering invaluable lessons and inspiration for players of all levels. Lastly, "Endgame Strategy" by Mikhail Shereshevsky is essential reading for those looking to master the endgame, providing in-depth analysis and practical advice to navigate this crucial phase of the game. Whether you're a novice or a seasoned player, these books offer invaluable wisdom and guidance to help you improve your chess skills and reach new heights in your game.

I would like to cast another vote for Ruben Fines Basic Chess Endings.

it is encyclopedic in nature but it has all of the essential information that you need to play endgames.

The best endorsement that I can give for the book is that GM Pal Benko MEMORIZED it.

Mikhail Bottvinik said it was the best book on the subject.

It's a classic!

My copy is a paperback with small print, thin pages, doesnt lay flat on a table and a binding that falls apart easily so I hardly use it. I'd buy a reprint that fixed that stuff and made is easy to study from.

I have played through every position in the book, cover to cover. I need to do it again.

Published in 2003, Dvorestky’s Endgame Manual has impressed countless players with it’s in-depth knowledge on endings. It covers all types of endgame positions and strategies. If I had to pick just one book, this would be it.
