Regardless of the moves between, if the exact board repeats 3 times in the game, it's a draw.

Those odds, and the ability to keep track of them; is pretty slim, so the 3x rep as a series of 3 moves is what most people look for.

If your opponents also duplicates his moves 3 times that means it's draw. Otherwise of course the game won't stop only because of yours duplication of king's moves.
