Is the best move to let your time run out?

You'll be surprised. Many games lead to presumed "dead" (both sides can't mate) or "half-dead" (one side can mate, the other not) positions. And players who know it play for the erroneous verdicts of sites such as chess.com. In the old days blitz players eliminated all of their opponents material (in suitable positions) to guarantee a draw before going for checkmate. Now they know they can leave them with a single knight or bishop because they get the draw anyway (in case of time out). And leaving material protects against the accidental stalemate as well.
Cases where the lone knight or bishop actually win by force are rare and they are not the reason why the issue reappears on the forums with great regularity.
So after all this, the answer to my original question was, yes as of now the best strategy is to let your time run out. Right?
That's how it should work based on cheap.com rules. Very similar positions are commonly mentionned on the forums with he same conclusion and I think so admins may even have confirmed it.
