BLACK TO MOVE, Kb8 leads to perpetual check and draw.
I was black in this position and I had to choose between Kb8 and Kd8, - I thought that Kd8 might lead to white promoting its pawn into a queen and I settled for a draw with Kb8.

However, Stockfish 18 (which i ran locally on my computer with the maximum settings it could handle) said that Kb8 was an inaccuracy and Kd8 would have given me an advantage, but as I went further and further into the top line,(at depth 30-40ish) it flattened out into a draw.

What are your opinions on this position? How should a human with a puny brain like me assess this situation?

I think that Black wins starting with Kd8 and white will run of checks because the Black king can hide on the kingside immune from White checks.

You saved yourself a big headache by playing Kb8 and therefore accepting the draw rather than playing Kd8 and looking for an elusive win that isn't there and possibly running out of time looking for that win that isn't there, as this position is most definitely a fortress after Kd8 if played correctly:

So the answer is yes, this is a draw.
