Wow! Tons of different possibilities and options for white to choose from, yet only one wins! Amazing study! truly very challenging.
I spent over 7 years choosing between 1.Ka9 and 1.Kb8, sacrificing the king. Then I realised that the winning move is neither of them, it is 1.d4!!, the most stunning move ever witnessed by humanity! It makes Mitrofanov's deflection seem like a basic tactic!
