Minor piece endings

Hi! I am a Class C (1422 Uscf) player. I have heard that novice players should study endgames (and tactics). I am having some trouble with minor piece endings (especially knight). I have Silman's Complete Endgame Course but it seems a bit lacking in those endgames. Is there any good material on minor piece endgames?

Knight endgames are a bit different from the others (bishop, rook, queen etc) as there aren't many general rules for them.  Often these endgames require the players to do a lot of calculation.  They're like pawn endgames, unforgiving, and an extra pawn, especially outside passers, are many times enough to win.

Other than that, a deflection fork/sac is a common theme.  And the positions with N vs N+1 can be studied.  Other than that, you would have to do a lot of practice/analysis from actual games.

That said, Silman's book is good, I'd stick with it.
