Thanx, crazy. It's just that I've NEVER seen Nalimov make a mistake, it's supposed to be complete.
@rooperi, what method are you using to access the database? If you got a win assessment from the first position, the interface software you are using must be faulty. The Nalimov database itself cannot be to blame, since the 6 piece online database gets it right, and the 5 piece database I have on my PC gets the right answer too (actually I think the 5 piece database is simply a subset of the 6 piece database, which has many more, much larger, additional files, so it would be surprising if they disagreed).
(third check - http://www.lokasoft.nl/tbweb.htm gives right answer with the abbreviated FEN "8/8/2rk/8/3KRN/8/8/8 w")
After reading the R+N vs R thread, I plugged some positions into Nalimov, and found an anomaly (I think):
In this position, it says White wins in 9, after Re6:
But after making that move, it says it's a draw. What am I missing?
