Yes, quite unconvincing, if a win at all. I am looking for Karsten Mueller's contact information. Perhaps he looked at it again in his ChessCafe column - I have them, but there at least 165 of them.
Neustadtl-Porges
Naepo and MARattigan Are you guys familiar with the site chessgames.com and their Analysis Laboratory. Could it be a resource for analyzing Neustadtl-Porges?

I would think it is just using an engine as we are. By the way, in your first line after 1. Ke3 Kxb2 2. Kd2 - I think we established that Kxa3 was best.
Yes, you are correct. I will enter that position after Kxa3 and see what comes out. I was hoping that Chessgames.com had more computing power in their version of Stockfish than we have in our engines.
There is a limit in the power. The desktop stuff is powerful enough in 2020 - and then the 7-piece tablebase kicks in. I think it is up to someone else to refute your K capturing queen-side pawns idea. I suspect the previous analysts didn't look at it seriously (on the surface it looks too slow - until we follow your line to the end) and computing power now is much better than 2000.
A few minutes ago I left a message at Chessbase to try to contact Karsten. We'll see. Your obsession has spread, but I am going to practice some distancing until we hear from Dr. Mueller. It has been interesting !
Their engine came up with the line 1) where Black makes King Moves instead of advancing his "a" pawn and British Chess Magazine 1907 states that Black will advance his "f" pawn and that White will be able to get a queen and stop the "f" pawn but in this line, the position is drawn after 20. Kxf2 Qa7+ according to tablebases. It seems that the win in BCM 1907 is dependant upon Black playing a3 after White plays h3.
Further to the previous post, it seems that the Muller and Lamprecht win is dependent upon Black responding to White's "h" pawn advance instead of ignoring it. I hope we can contact Muller and see what he thinks about all this.
George !
Karsten has responded !

19. h6 is not correct. 19 f5 results in a couple of more advanced passers. White still has a lot of work to do in the Q+P + Q+ P ending.
But an unconvincing win. For what it's worth (probably not much) SF8 Kibitzes itself to a tablebase draw before its reaches a depth of 30 ply after 19. f5.
