Yes it is! - in terms of game play. However in the world of composition it counts as an endgame study even if it showed 32 units in the diagram! Every assignment to win or draw without specified number of moves is an endgame study. The author must make sure there is only one way to win/draw - up to a point where the solution ends. An endgame study is wrong when there is for instance a mate in 3 and another mate in 5 because the duration doesn't matter. They are simply 2 different correct solutions and that is not allowed!

Note that many chess.com puzzles are neither endgame studies nor checkmate problems. They are in a strange twilight zone where you must sometimes find the mate and win a piece at other times - like in a game. You never know.

i still have problems regarding some common endgame patterns that i find them difficult. like KB mate or Q vs R

i did my best on this one but it apparently is not perfect!

one of endgame patterns i really hate.. since you have to play with your knight alot. its much easier with a rook or two bishops.

Middle game is part of the game after the 10th move and endgame is when there is not a lot of pieces left like no queens, 1 rook each side, 2 bishops, 1 knight.

That's the diffence between endgame (as part of a game or in endgame theory) and endgame study (which is composed as a puzzle). The latter has no limitations in material, the former does. Your topic name "show your endgame studies" suggest you are looking for designed positions and not for actual game finishes or theoretical endings.

Note that the forum "Endgame Study" is for both types because "Endgame" can be read as an adjective to "Study" or part of the single two-word term "Endgame Study". That's why confusion may exist between them.

Also note that "endgame studies" are formally referred to as "studies" in our composition codex to avoid the association with minimal material positions. Because they include by definition all win/draw assignments there is no dividing line between opening/middlegame/endgame. However you think about them, you must play them all to the end which is commonly low on material as in EvinSungs study. Full board checkmates are rare in studies.
