Studying Endgame with Database

I like to share how I study endgame using database. For example, if I want to study KR + 4P vs kr + 3p where all the pawns are on the kingside e, f, g, h file, I do the following search method.

Do you do that on your phone from the chess.com app or on your computer?

I do on phone with SCID on the GO. The procedure in PC of Searching is similar with SCID vs PC, Chessbase and Fritz GUI

True. That's why I search for better ways than reading endgame books. This method is "less boring".

Another example. KQ vs kr

This is an interesting idea, but I don't think this would be any more beneficial than regular practice against a computer such as the chess.com drills. Using the database for endgame study sounds helpful, but I believe that these endings will be easier to convert by studying pawn structure (since these usually trade into King and pawn endgames). I like Kmoch's book, Pawn Power In Chess, but I know Silman is a great chess author too (I just haven't read any of Silman's endgame books, but I've heard good things).

Pawn endgame can be studied too. Just place the pawns on what files to be studied. Chess Informants don't have human language annotations and considered the top chess instructions materials before the internet.

Yeah, I understood that. Practicing like this (even if from a famous game in a database) feels like little more than trial and error. Play, analyze for improvements, repeat. That is a good method, but studying the nuances in human words before doing these are most useful. Endgames study with a database sounds really beneficial after the fundamentals and repetition of ideas has been introduced.

Combination of book and database is best. The book has little examples.

I had book from 1928., unfortunately not in eng, our language, scanned to keep ebook format... covers many mainline openings... probably naive for today standards... my first chess book and only, in physical format...

All endgames like King and Pawns, Minor Piece Endings, Rook Endings, etc can be learned from DB. Just the right setup and parameters in the Filter Option.
