I would be offering a draw.
The hardest endgame of all time

The big question Ry.... Can you win this position against a tablebase
If I was using a tablebase, then yes
Otherwise, no

i checked with 4 engines. all say 0.00
except depth 30 chess.com engine, it says +0.09
Check the lichess engine
It uses a tablebase
And it says win in 84
lichess engine says +0.1 dude

In b4 the lock.

All the people who are consulting to an engine in an endgame in a position with five pieces know absolutely nothing about endgames. Use a tablebase if you do not want to solve this study with your brain.

1. Ba7 Nc8?? 2. Ng3# ???
But I think after 1. Ba7 Ne4 2. Bb6!? Nf2+ Kg3 draw?? (repetition on Nf2+ Kg3 Ne4+ Kh3 etc.)

I think if you gave this to 100 gms that know B+N vs K by heart, give them 30 minutes, and put them against the endgame tablebase that plays all the best moves, 80 of them would mess up the win entirely, 19 of them would eventually win but it would take more than 50 to win the knight, and one of them would win the game

Ry: Engine says mate in 73
Also ry: win in 50 moves
what
Ry means to win the knight within 50 moves and then checkmate with N+B
that doesn't work in the real game though due to 50 move rule
If you win the knight in 50 moves you get another 50 because its a capture duh roger

2. Bb6 is wrong and I believe it is drawn after that
2. Be3! Is the easiest and fastest and then I believe it goes like Nf2 Kg3 Ne4 Kf3 etc etc
When I get back to a tablebase I’ll talk about it in more detail

Kind of curious was this a study or an actual game? If you won this position in an actual game I think its really impressive...especially if it was an OTB game.

Oh god no
I was messing with a tablebase and thought the position looked nice and interesting to see if anybody could try for the technique on their own
Im actually going to try and solve it myself now, even though I looked at the tablebase I don’t remember all the lines
