Yes that is winning. Show me the technique

I know about some "bad bishop" things but I honestly don't know.

You forgot to say "Please show me the solution."

And the solution is?

If you want ry to show you the solution you will have to say "Please".

Trexler3241

Please show me the solution.

Well done, rychessmaster1 will now post a complete error-free solution ending in checkmate.

Get a table base lol

Too busy

Trexler, now do you see why I said this was your best bet? Until ry posts a solution, you are justified in assuming the position is drawn, and he was pulling your leg all along.

n9531l

This was a Ryan Amburgy 2015 study in which the stipulation was White to move and win. We are still waiting to see the solution.

Maybe the solution is playing for a draw? Black was up Q+B vs R+R

Nope!!!!!!!

n9531l

You didn't mention it was bughouse because it wasn't. It was a Ryan Amburgy 2015 study.

I think at some point we will get to find out whether you can admit you made a mistake.

White to play and win. This is a fun one

Winning after 1. b8N+ Kd6 2. Nxa6 is NOT fun

LOL...I had the same thought.

Trexler3241

If it was bughouse, then it's an impossible problem. 4. @g6 then 5.Re8 is checkmate.

n9531l

Please tell us if you plan to ever post the solution to your 2015 study.

I really just wanted to find out whether you are honest enough to admit to a mistake. I have the answer now, so we can move on to something new.

Ok good deal
I don’t have a tablebase, so I didn’t want to waste my time finding out if it was won or drawn
Anyways if I’m wrong and it’s drawn, just add an f2 pawn in the initial position

When you composed the study in 2015, did you consider it a waste of time to find out if it was won or drawn? It might have been hard, since there is no tablebase for an 8-man position.

Anyway, I learned what I wanted to know, so we can close this subject.

On another subject, how are you coming along with the solution you've been working on to #78?

n9531l

3. Kg5 Ke5.  What's next?   Have to go out, I'll check back later.

n9531l

4. Kg6 Ke6 5. b3? c4 6. b4 Ke5 draws.

n9531l

Here's one way. 7. Kg5 Ke4 8. Kg4 Ke5 9. Kf3 Kf5=. How were you planning to win?

If White moves king to f-file Black gets opposition, if white pushes pawn he loses that pawn
