Would someone explain how the winner is determined if the game times out please?

Each player has his own timer. The first one to run out loses

If you run out of time, you lose.
If your opponent runs out of time, your opponent loses. Simple!

There is the weird case of your opponent running out of time and getting a draw due to "Insufficient Material"

It's logical: if one player runs out of time, the other gets the best possible outcome he/she could have got, had the game continued.

If the player who still has time on their clock couldn't possibly get mate because they don't have enough pieces to do it (even if they played like a genius and their opponent did everything they could to lose), then it's a draw.
