I'm also around your range, my peak was around ~1000 but can't maintain it. I currently dk what to do either. I can solve tactics alright tho

Stop Blundering (Most Important!)
Before every move, ask: "Does my opponent have a check, capture, or threat?"
Double-check if any of your pieces are hanging.
2. Stick to Simple Openings
As White: London System or Italian Game (safe and solid).
As Black: Scandinavian (1. e4 d5) or Caro-Kann (1. e4 c6) (less theory, good structures).
3. Focus on Basic Tactics
Solve 5-10 puzzles daily (forks, pins, skewers, discovered attacks).
Chess.com / Lichess puzzles help with pattern recognition.
4. Play Slower Time Controls (10+ Minutes Per Game)
Bullet/blitz can be fun, but rapid (10+ min) helps you think properly.
5. Review Your Games (Even Just a Few Minutes!)
Check where you blundered and learn from it.
If you lost a winning position, figure out why.
6. Don’t Get Tilted—Take Breaks
Losing streak? Stop playing and do puzzles instead.
Play fresh, not when you're frustrated.
Final Tip: Play confidently but carefully!

maybe focus on positional play and time management. Sometimes we rely too much on tactics and miss slow, improving moves. Also, reviewing lost games helps spot patterns in mistakes. Maybe we just need a fresh approach to break through!

Wilsons_World Yes! I applied these steps already when I was stuck at 700 and climbed to 844 next, but lost rating points and came at 829 here again, I play 15|10 and try to not blunder, but still idk why I lose

It sounds like you're putting in solid effort, and climbing from 700 to 844 shows real progress. However, rating swings are normal—everyone experiences ups and downs. If you're losing despite focusing, you might want to review your games more deeply. Try identifying patterns in your losses: Are you blundering under time pressure? Struggling in certain types of positions? Missing key ideas in the middle or endgame? Improving isn't just about avoiding blunders but also refining decision-making. Keep at it, and your consistency will improve over time!

You have been making blunders.
Most people make outrageous blunders because they move to fast.
In long and short time controls, you seem to be moving fast.
You don’t seem to use your time.
Your playing a 15 minute with 10 seconds increment game, but game is ending in 2 mins.
You are missing the entire point of playing long time control games.
It’s not about playing the first move that pops in your head.
It’s about looking at tons of moves.
Then thinking about what your opponents will do in response.
