Always loosing on time in 10 min rapid

I am a slow thinker who always wants to understand opponent's idea and find a strong reply, which I choose from around 4 options. I wanted to learn 10 min rapid but it's so fast that it's almost unplayable for me. I just can't comprehend how people can play chess so quickly. Should I learn better time managment somehow (but how?) or should I stick to 15|10? (I still get into time trouble in this format sometimes but the increment is very useful.)

Playing more 15|10 games, a lot more mind you, will translate to getting better at faster time controls over time. It's better to play classical for this though. Good luck.

Quickly eliminate obviously bad moves, narrow your choice to 2-3 plausible moves, then compare them more deeply.

You should play the 30 minute games

You will get faster as you learn. I would stick with the slower games

go to 30 minutes games...

or go to 3 minutes game..play a while and then return to 10 minutes..you will see that you have plenty of time

I have the same problem. If I am under time pressure I make terrible mistakes and don’t see obvious moves… It is a shame.

If I am playing classical chess, I‘m quite good. Because Ive been playing chess just for a few months now, I simply need much time to think. If I play classical chess I often use the explorer to analyse the game and plan my next moves.

But I am very annoyed, that I am that „stupid“ when it comes to fast playing….
