I mainly play against Martin since I'm a beginner. But I am so bad I always press the hint button😭. Am I alone on this?

Hi! Fellow beginner here! What happens when you play without hints? I know it's tempting to use them, but try to look out for some useful moves before pressing the hint button... Maybe developing a bishop or a knight to a square which is not defended to try to control more central squares, or advancing a central pawn to an undefended square, or attacking one of their pieces. Try to be on the lookout for pieces that are not defended also, because Martin does hang some pieces frequently haha... And also, I'd recommend spending a bit more time thinking before a move (again, I'm not a Master or anything), but as an example, in one of your games here:

You could have their queen for free with your bishop! But you spent only three seconds thinking and moved a pawn to threaten their queen... Not the worst move, but you had a lot of time still left on the clock, so if you had stopped for a few seconds to check for potential captures you'd have seen it! I'd suggest to spend a few seconds looking for undefended pieces, like their queen in this case for example, or checks (they say Checks/Captures/Attacks as something to always look for), specially when you have enough time left...
Also, don't surrender at this level, even if you made a mistake, we all do; or if they play an opening you've never seen before, or they play something you were not expecting, just try to keep playing because your opponent can make a mistake too! Try to control the center, develop your minor pieces and put your king safe (castle) and play from there. Just a few advices since I was feeling just like you a few months ago, hope it helps! And if you have any question feel free to ask me, I'll try to help!
