They mean best 'openings'/defences' and are clearly LEARNING.

I recommend Caro-Kann.

I'm super new and it's the only black 'debut' I've learned so far and is serving me well.

PS I think 'debut' is an excellent way to describe black's first few moves.

I'm in a grumpy mood today so I'm just going to point out that

a) not everyone has English as a first language

and b) not everyone spells awesome on the internet all the time (including me) and it's not because we are stupid. For me it's because of Adhd/Dyslexia.

Also people just hit the wrong key etc.

It's clear to me that 'Beast' means 'Best'.

Of course people responding are probably being helpful.

I'm just grumpy because I'm sick AND have had a lifetime of spelling phonetically.

And English is a pain in the ass language (pardon my French ;) ).

One of the things that impressed me in a tournament I went to a few years ago was how lovely and supportive all the players were when I lost to them.

I have a really hard time figuring out how anyone can write "Beast debut black?" and expect to be understood by anyone.

The best defences for black from beginner to world champion are 1 e4 e5 and 1 d4 d5.

If it was "best debut" I'd immediately know what they're talking about. The typo did throw me off though.
