Beginner Stalemate question

I am a begginner chess player and new member on this site. I am bit confused about how the stalemate works.

In the following example the king is not in check, but he also cant move. No pawn can save him from this situation with one or two moves. Maybe it becomes possible, after the pawns change to queens.

When the king is in check, immediately we have to make only one move to avoid it,with the king or an assisting pawn. It is not allowed to leave him in check for two or more moves.

So, my question is it allowed to leave him in this situation (in the chessboard below), for unlimited moves, and continue the game normally until one player gets a checkmate?

(forgot to add one king)

Hi GeorgeLivie,

Yes, the King can remain in that position while the pawns move. Stalemate occurs when one side has no legal moves for any pawns or pieces. While the King has no legal moves, the pawns do have legal moves, so it is not stalemate.

Best.
