Best Beginner Chess Opening

So my dad has recently learnt how to play chess, and I was wondering what some of the best openings I can teach him. 

maybe u can teach him caro kan its not the best beginner opening but it will help

ok I'll show him and see what he thinks.

Sicilian opening is great but Caro Kan is preffered.

I'm looking for something easy to learn and understand, but still affective.

Probably fried-liver attack and Evans gambit are strong options for beginners. These variations come from Italian, one of the most classic openings.

And for black, Scandinavian and caro-kann

but, if you want him to catch his begginer opponents by suprise, Ruy Lopez will work, its not actually that hard to understand. look at this video and see if you have to learn 500 variations because people say "it''S THe OnlY WAy" or if you just have to leanr what every piece has to do.
