Hello everyone. Quick question for you all: I’ve noticed that when solving chess puzzles that the solution [to the puzzle] does not always result in a checkmate. Sometimes I’ll solve the puzzle, but I’m not always sure as to why that particular move solved the puzzle? Any takers on this? Thanks in advance!

The puzzles I've done so far seem to have two objectives, checkmate or material advantage, the problem is trying to work out which one that particular puzzle is.

I see what you’re saying; thanks! You’re right

No problem 🙂 I see that you have done a lot more puzzles than me so you might already know but if you don't, some of the puzzles are 6 moves deep, they are a nightmare trying to work out if it's to gain material advantage, good luck!

I’ve noticed that in addition to some pattern recognition, as well. My goal is to improve (my chess game and I like chess puzzles) overall. I make tons of mistakes lol and the answer is right in front of me lol. Thanks and good luck to you, as well!

It doesn't help with the time limit either, I look at the time required and then look at my time, only a 2 hour difference 😆  Enjoy your puzzles.
