Computer Strength

I have been playing chess for a little while on this app. I have a low rating so I decided to practice against the computer. While in live matches I tend to fare relatively well against players at a rating of about 500-600. I started playing the computer at different ratings and consistently beat it at ratings of 1000 and win about 50% against 1200. Is the rating system of Chess.com's computer that far off or am I stressing myself out over a time limit and a live player?

I have a very similar problem. I can easily beat level 5 and 6 on the computer but it's a struggle to win against actual people. To answer your question, I thi k that Chess.com's computer is a little whack but it could be that you are just stressing yourself out. If you want to find an average time limit for when you play live chess, try timing yourself when you play against the computer a couple of times. Once you find an average time, you'll feel more confident that you will finish the game before the clock runs out

I think the computer is just easier I never play seriously against it but I can usually beat it at around 1600 when not thinking at all and just blitzing moves so time pressure is probably not an issue. Don’t know is stress of a live player is any factor though.
