King's Gambit is good too.

Even World Champion Garry Kasparov played it.

Try this thing.

Isn’t the KG kind of unsound?

It is great but a beginner cannot know how to continue if it becomes a little different

Of course. You should learn all variations of that.

But it's ideal already ).

the kings gambit is considered sub-par now because it weakens white's kingside considerably and in some lines black has all the attacking chances

A beginer vs beginer can lead to the declination of kings gambit

you're also unlikely to face the Kings gambit declined, even so it's still probably slightly better for black given that he's already pushed his kingside pawns

How is the King’s Gambit for beginners? It literally pushes pawns around your king, which everyone says not to do.

It is not positionally positive but it is tactically positive

i think Queen's gambit, though, by far is the best gambit. It is excellent positionally, and there are even traps.

ok technically the central variation one i just made up and most people won't blunder with 8...Bb4??, but it illustrates White's positional compensation.

just some advice on how i like to decline the king's gambit:

fxe5 is literally just a blunder in almost every KG variation though

It's very reasonable judgment. )

I think the same.

This is why I play it from time to time.

yea i know

but hanging the pawn makes it more tempting to capture. by the way, after Nf3, Nc6 does NOT work. You must play d6.

the difference between these 2 positions is that in both of them the knight will get trapped and possibly even sacrifice for a pawn, known as "desperado". But because after Nc3, you lose a knight after fxe5 Nxe5 Nxe5, you really won't be up any material. But after d6, you actually lose NO material, and you will trap his knight and be up a piece.
