If losing ELO points makes you want to stop playing chess, that might mean that you don't really enjoy it, you just play to boost your self-esteem. You will enjoy games a lot more when you remind yourself that it's all for fun 👍 and if that's too difficult, maybe chess isn't for you.

I bet the owner of the forum just takes chess as not an sport but work

Just keep playing. Keep doing the puzzles. They will make you a better player. Do we're not talking about a couple of dozen puzzles.... We're talking about thousands and thousands of puzzles. Eventually with repetition everything sinks in. Start to recognize patterns and retain information.

Exactly

Tactics are good, but don’t over do it.

No... do not give up!

As others have said, you are frustrated and contemplating  giving up because you are pressuring yourself to progress a certain way. Forget about your rating and focus on working to understand the basics of the game. Focus on enjoying chess.

That is very general advice, if you want more 'practical' advice on improving, feel free to drop me a DM

Never give up. Sometimes people lucky to understand hard things at start, but it doesn't mean that you are worth then someone. Try to solve a lot of puzzles and learn basics of strategy from youtube. (Sorry for my bad english)

Once you start nailing those tactics and not blundering too often, then you will definitely get much better at chess.

Hi! My name is Lauren Goodkind and I’m a respected  chess coach and chess YouTuber who helps beginners out :

Send me one of your games and I'll be happy to analyze the game for free on my YouTube channel on Sunday livestream from 1-2PM PST.  Ask me questions in real time!

This is a great way to improve!

Here’s more  ideas to help you get better.

-I recommend two books for you: “50 Poison Pieces”   and “Queen For A Day: The Girl’s Guide To Chess Mastery.”  Both books are available on Amazon.com.  Both books are endorsed by chess masters!

-If you are serious about chess, I highly recommend you hiring a chess coach to help you.

-Also consider all checks and captures on your side and also your opponent’s side. Always as, “If I move here, where is my opponent going to move?”. Do this for every single move!

-Play with a slow time control, such as G/30 so you have plenty of time to think before every move.
