The pawn
The pawn moves one space and are in the 2nd rank for white and in the 7th rank for black.
In their beginning ranks they can also move 2 squares like this
It also can take diagonally like this
at the 1st rank for black and the 8th rank for white they can change to any piece they like except for the king and another pawn
Now there is also one special trick called en passant but that would be for later. Check out for tomorrow's 2. The bishop!
