I see a lot of people who BUY PAID STUFF like courses when they are 1000. There is no need for that. All you need is out there for free. Here is my list of the free resourses.

1) Youtube. Channels that I recommend are:

- Chesspage1. This guy's latest videos are amazing for below 1500. It has literally all you might need for that level. The opening videos are also great

- GothamChess. His content is fun yet educational. He has literally everything on his channel, so check it out.

- Volclus. This guy is for more advanced players, altho his "no nonsense beginner guide" videos are good for the newer players. This guy literally makes 50 minute videos of pure opening theory, why buy courses if this dude exists?

- Hanging Pawns. This is basically Volclus but for 2000s. I don't like how he ignores the sidelines and explores only the GM level mainlines.

- GMHikaru. He always explains his ideas before moving which may be helpful to try and understand how GMs think

- ChessVibes. Good puzzles, tactics and etc. Really liked his mating patterns video.

- Castle Queenside. Great game analysises

2) Websites.

- openingtree.com You can see how well you score at each opening variation.

- lichess.com Free puzzles, studies a free opening database and many more

- chessable there are some FREE courses, so check it out

- chessmood there is one free course - the opening principles one. And it is AMAZING. I recommend it to literally everyone.

- chessly there are free samples to each course, and they are actually great(the vienna gambit one covers everything you need to know up to 1500-1600 level)

If you know some other free stuff, then add it to the list. I hope it helps
