Who is that GM Chessweeds?

There is no such member in chess dot com or streaming in some known place.

Where did he make this claim?

A GM does not make such claims, even if he is smoking weeds.

I am sure you did not understand what he said.

Man, why do you think that I don't understand what he said about French defence right playing?

Denes Boros speaks english very slow and clear.

He said... "After standard beginning of French defence... play pawn b6... then Bishop goes on b7... but black Knight moves onto d7 instead c6. In this case your position will be more solid. But many people play French defence in the other way... and their position is not so solid". )

The only relevant video I have found is one of the Rubinstein French, which is a completely different animal than the ummm... normal French.

In the Rubinstein, you do NOT have a blocked center, the b8 knight does belong to d7, and the c8 bishop probably at b7, but playing ...b6 and ...Bb7 early on is easier said, than done.

The Rubinstein also has a much higher win rate for white than black.

I just read a book on the French and took a free course by Anish Giri on the French. Giri did play ...b6 and play ...Nd7 in his "Short and Sweet: French Defense" under "Winawer 7.h4"

Does it mean that GM Denes Boros (or Chessweeds) is right... though?

There's a GM ChessWeeb that streams on some other chess site.

   Guys, I mistook.

Not Chessweeds.... but Chessweebs !

Oh.... my god....

Denes Boros does lectures about Chess strategies for beginners of all levels of Chess playing.

Nickname "Chessweeds" seems to me more original. )

Weeds are wild resistant life-loving plants which grow on their own in your garden... in russian language..

What do these "weebs" mean in english... I don't know at all.

I heard that some people smoke weeds.

But I don't yet.

And I  am almost sure that I understood him correctly.

I don't think weebs really means anything in English but weeds can indeed be very extra special happy plants in the English language.happy.png

Ah, that makes sense.

I find it a bit bewildering if somebody talkes about the "french" and then says it´s necessary to play b6 for the white colored bishop.... the "french" is just e4 e6 - d4 d5, how could you move the b-pawn here?? After these initial moves the "tree" beginns to grow fast and furious... the steinitz-v, the advanced-v, the classicla-v, the winawer-v, the exchange-v... and so on and so on. And on every of these variants b6 is the solution?? Or what? This is a bit hilarous and I think pfren is on right track to say, somebody has something nor really understand.

Well... hmm... I agree. )

GM Chessweebs said ... after beginning of French defence... move your pawn onto b6... then Bishop b7... and Knight goes d7... but you right... these unusual moves depend on the moves your opponent does.

But let's test his suggestion. Maybe these black moves will be a little surprise for your opponent.

Cool

Now I had a look at this GM. Found this: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hk1iEGGUBwc

but nothing about an early b6. I know a line in the burne variation where black goes a6 - b5 with a later a5-b4 with Ba6 to exchange the bad black bishop with the good white bishop.

Maybe you can tell us the exact name of the video you had a look at.

If you are able to look at chess.com video section I highly recomend the french line of gingergm. Exept of his suggestion in the classical french (which is a bit odd) he makes all important points of the french and the main variations very clear. I love him.

Thank you for your link.

Chessweebs, coach KingsBishop and GM Ginger are three my favorite streamers on chess.com.

They really want to teach us to play Chess.

About these unusual... maybe even strange moves... in French defence... Denes Boris said in one of his streams.

Yesterday Boros told how to make plan for further playing after the end of some opening... by analyzing the position on the board.

I think that it is my the most weak point in Chess now.

Pain on my heart.

I'm losing game again.

It had bad start.

Tears falling from my eyes like rain.

Just tell yourself, it's only a game.

Set them up and try again.

Ok... but my Chess losses depress me much.

DrSpudnik

Just pull out of the combat and regroup/plan again/learn some things and get back in.

korotky_trinity

Especially it was sad... that in a few my last lost games... the Computer's analysis said that I could win if I did good tactics. (

So I am in very bad mood now.

I become even nervious. )

How didn't I see so simple tactics in those lost games?

No... Chess is great game but it is not for me... I am too absent-minded.
