Idk I find them fun
Hello

It is what it is man, you have to study and work not just fun and games.
The emotional mind - our inner monkey - will always say 'Don't want that', but you have to activate higher powers. Talent is not what gets you there, it's hard work and how much you want it.
Hi,
Most people enjoy puzzles to a degree since each position in chess is a sort of puzzle, so solving puzzles with a clue that hey there’s a great idea in this position and finding it is quite enjoyable for many so it’s interesting you don’t like solving puzzles. But if you can’t bring yourself to do any chess studying in more or less any conventional capacity, it’ll be hard to improve, and 9k games or whatnot later, you see just how difficult it is. Do you ever look over your games and consider why you made the mistakes you did? That would be the best way to improve if you shun other conventional methods of studying.

Chess is a game. It can be fun, relaxing, stressful, intellectual, intense, casual, etc. etc. You do what you enjoy. There are millions of members on chess.com, and I guarantee you that NO ONE cares what you enjoy and they don't care if you're getting better. Some people play nothing but blitz. Some do nothing but puzzles or study master games or do lessons. Some work very very hard to gain a few rating points, only to lose them again in the next few games. If you want to steadily improve, there are lessons and challenges here to help you do that. If you just want to play a lot and pass the time, have at it.
The people on here who give you all kinds of advice on how to improve when you didn't ask for it are like HS guidance counselors who are trying to push you into Princeton when you actually want to go into a trade.
Stay on chess.com. Play, enjoy, study if you want. Don't study if you don't feel like it. Cheers.

The fact that I'm middle aged and just played chess for the first time a year ago is probably the reason I'm not so into the whole study thing. I'm an old dog. I don't care about new tricks. I just want to lay out in the yard - in the sun.

I do not. When I lose a game I generally just spend a few moments assuring myself that the reason that I lost has something to do with the sexual orientation of the other player.

….but have you played here the FFA offered? That’s a four player arena, and if you watched some youtubes on where to position etc before you know it you’d be getting the hang of it and how it’s set up, the vast board and all the pieces than the standard setup. It dramatically increases your standard game.. I’ve a thread on FFA and will post that link, you can click some of the links of my games and see what I’m saying.. that’s of course if you never played 4 player yet.

I've never posted anything iin the forums before. So hello.
I've played 8,000+ games on this account and 1,000 or so on the first account I had.
I seem to suck at chess, but I just can't bring myself to study any books or do any puzzles. I did 20 or 30 puzzles, but meh... whatever.
Have a good night.
