Help a lazy player

I’m going to catch a whole lynch mob for admitting to this, but I actually find myself in very strong positions with the London system. Are there any similar openings, white or black, that have such a flexible structure and can be played against anything? I’m just barely learning and really like being able to get to the middle game without much thought, though I’m slowly learning the real tenets of theory behind why we take the moves we take in the opening.

Bishop's Opening, it's fun, flexible, friendly for beginners, and also has a lot of traps.

Just keep playing the london, if it wins you more games then just keep playing it until you get bored.

In order to be lazy, you need to learn a poopton of things first. Like a whole lot. And possibly that won't be enough.

That is, if you meant you want to become good at chess and be lazy at the same time.

Lazy players usually work twice as hard as others, so they can relax and be lazy. Later. Maybe.

I'm too lazy myself to be of any assistance. Even this post is rather lazy. Take care.

I do not recommend the London system for students.

it does have the advantage of being safe. So playing it means that you likely won’t get blown out in the opening.

However, it is very easy for Black to equalize. A beginner who plays the London may not lose in the opening, but they will be outplayed and lose in the middlegame.

i think some teachers recommend the London because their students are afraid of losing. That is not the attitude that I encourage students to have. Play aggressively. Go for the win. Yes, you will lose some games quickly. But I think you will advance more quickly when you play to win.

Try the Jobava London. Much more fun.

I like the Hippo opening. Am using it for quite some time already as black and white. It helped me get from 500 to around 1200. Check some videos like from chessbrahs or whoever you like. It can also be continued as a normal game like from .e4 if the opponent changes the style. Depends on what kind of playstyle you like in the end.
