Not for me

My brother played it and I somehow still lost

For some reason he is stuck at like 500 rapid but he's way better than me and plays much better moves faster than me

I always advocate that people improve their general chess skills instead of trying to find that magic opening that will make their lives easier by not learning how to play a variety of opening systems.

You can just skip it

It's a difficult opening/defense to play well - unless you already understand chess at a high level. Mostly because it avoids advancing any pawn past the 3rd rank - so it allows your opponent to adopt whatever setup they want, without any resistance from you.

Basically it's an opening that says, "Take your best shot - I will try to weather the storm". Good if you're confident in your ability to outplay your opponent from a defensive, back-against-the-wall position.

But if that's not your cup of tea, then I'd look elsewhere ...
